2 Days / 1 Night Mikumi National Park

Mikumi National Park is located 300km, west of Dar es Salaam (a 4 hours drive).

The park derives its name (Mikumi) from the Kiswahili word for the Borassus palm which once grew there in profusion.   Because of its accessibility, it is one of the most popular parks in Tanzania and is an important centre for education where students go to study ecology and conservation.  Mikumi National Park is also served by an airstrip near the park headquarters allowing access by air.
