2 Days / 1 Night Ngorongoro Crater

Day 1: After breakfast transfer to Ngorongoro

It is about 5 hours drive from Moshi to Ngorongoro Crater.  The road to Ngorongoro crosses the Rift Valley and passes near the northern gate of lake Manyara National Park.

• Picnic Lunch at the Crater floor.
• Afternoon game drive at the Crater floor.

The animals here are not trapped, but there are some migratory movements in and out of the crater.  Because of the protected nature of the habitat and the availability of grazing pastures and water, much of the animal population has become resident year round.  This makes Ngorongoro an ideal area for game viewing.  There are several prides of lion and some of the last remaining rhinos to be found in Tanzania.  Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro compsite/Lodge.

Day 2: After breakfast drive to Crater floor

Morning game drives at the Crater floor.

This morning game drive may offer us an opportunity to see the Maasai tribesmen dressed in their distinctive traditional dress, tending their herds of cattle.  They have been granted grazing rights in the Crater floor where their livestock can get drinking water as well.

Picnic Lunch at noon time at view point the drive back to Moshi.
